People have lived in Nahuel Huapi National Park since before its creation, cohabiting with the environments and species cared for by the protected area. These people, environments and species have shared life and have a vast experience of joint and reciprocal learning. Therefore, in Nahuel Huapi National Park we take care of the biocultural legacy, that subtle, sensitive and valuable web that lives here. As our life passes, so does the life of plants, fungi, insects, amphibians, birds, mammals. As our relationships grow, so does the rest of the living system. We have the opportunity to create relationships with our environment, every day. The attempt to separate nature from culture represents a paradigm of the past. By moving away from this fragmentary view, we can appreciate the undeniable union between nature and culture. This allows us to understand more fully the relationships we have established with other species, all co-inhabitants of Nahuel Huapi National Park.

Located in the provinces of Río Negro and Neuquén, it preserves more than 717 thousand hectares of the Patagonian Forests, Patagonian Steppe and High Andes ecoregions.
